NC-11 Poll: Heath Shuler leads Taylor

Shuler Keeps Lead in Race for US House

According to a Public Policy Polling survey released today, likely voters in North Carolina's Eleventh Congressional District give an edge to Democratic challenger Heath Shuler over incumbent Republican Charles Taylor in their race for Congress.  Shuler leads 47% to 43% without leaners and 51% to 45% with leaners.  Shuler leads among Independents by a 2-1 margin, 58%-29%.

The poll of 675 likely voters was conducted July 10th and has a margin of error of +/- 3.7%.

In a House race, a former NFL QB is gonna do well in NC.   He is going to steal white male voters away from the Republicans.   I am glad to see him up.

Yep - Shuler actually leads among male voters 46%-45% and is picking up 18% of the GOP vote.  The district only has 3 to 5% minority voters, so Shuler cannot afford get far behind among men.

For all the criticism Rahm Emanuel receives, he was instrumental in getting Shuler into this race and making it competitive.
